A few things you may want to know
What if we don’t remember the exact date we met?
Use the closest date you’re sure of. The moon changes shape gradually, so a day either way shows a very similar phase, and you can compare dates in the preview before ordering.
We met online or were in different places. Which place do we use?
Use the place that feels like where it started: where you first met in person, or where one of you was that night. The moon’s phase is the same everywhere at that moment; the place sets the local date and time and the angle of the moon.
Does it matter if we met during the day?
No. The print shows the moon’s phase for your date and place, even if you met in daylight. Add the time if you know it; a rough time is fine.
What if we met on a new moon?
Your print still has a moon. On a new moon it shows a dark moon with its surface faintly visible, not an empty sky. It’s more common than you’d think: about one in six dates our customers choose has a moon less than 10% lit.
How do we know it’s the right moon?
Each moon is calculated for your date, time and place using astronomical formulas. Our accuracy page puts our moons beside NASA’s images for the same dates.
Can we add our wedding or another date too?
